Simply B-eautiful Winters Coat from the Joanna Hope Simply Be Collection

Winters here  -  lets have a bit of  Simplybe Cheer for this marvelous knee length coat.

The coat itself is  from the Joanna Hope collection "Joanna Hope Faux Fur Trim Coat"   - Product Code: KB709IG at £104.00, the size I'm wearing is a size 22 and its  80% Polyester, 18% Viscose, 2% Elastane. Lining: Polyester.
Its also machine washing-able so no more pricey dry cleaning bills :0)

This coat is brilliantly on trend in that it is a beautiful camel color and has the current seasons all important Faux Fur Trim Collar, which adds a lovely luxurious touch to this b-eautiful coat :0), without the cruel factor.

This smart coat is great for most occasions  I'm personally wearing it for work, and when I go out to do lunch lol.  It has the feel of a much more expensive coat and the quality is second to none.

I love this fur collar :0).

The fur collar is also detachable , if you fancy going nude. ( on my!)

As you can see, from the cut, the coat nips in very neatly at the waist, helping to define and accentuate  my natural curves  ( or if you're more into shape my lovely apple shape/upper hourglass lol) .

In case you;re wondering I'm 5'8 and this darling of a coat really does keep out the cold and manages to cover,  rather generously,  my long back and posterior :0) .

I normally have a problem with the length of sleeves , but I was pleasantly surprised to find that the sleeves were a perfect length, just past the edge of my wrists  :0).

I think it looks good at the back as well, what do you think?

Take a look at the lining, isn't it smart :0)

This coat would look perfect teamed with these Simply Be brown pair of knee length boots.   I rather like these ones  Product Code FV853ASXTI Wedge Suede Boot  (£100.00)  and this great hat "Fusions By East Trilby hat" Product Code KB981IG, a bargain at £25.00.  So if anybody is wondering what to get me as  belated birthday present then you have the answers above.

I've been out in this coat in the cold,  in the rain, snow and wind  (so most of our seasons) and its held up very well.

Thanks all  , hope you enjoy the coat as much as I have , see you next time. xx

Skye Ladder - new musical venture

November of this year took me to the beautiful  Isle of Skye.  We were late going this year , normally we are up there around August each year so we catch the long days and the beautiful sunsets.   However, poor, Paul  ( hubbie) had to have a rather nasty operation on his shoulder acromioclavicular joint  which involves all sorts of nasty things like cutting off and shaving bone eeek, so we holidayed at home instead.

Anyway  in anticipation of his 50th birthday 9th of Nov  and always lacking funds, I started to sell items on ebay, with a lot of success I must say.   I managed to save up enough to rent a cottage for a week and also pay for the fuel and a new guitar for Pauls Birthday.

So anyway, we went up to the Isle of Skye and took up a guitar and keyboard and started writing songs, the result being the birth of a new duo called "Skye Ladder"  The name  comes from us wanting to move to the Isle of Skye at some point, it also is an indication of what we would like to achieve :0)
We've published a list of songs ( below)  and are currently recording these at Neils studio in Littlebrough.

Keep checking back on the facebook page for more details re gigs and single/album releases .

1st Album due out towards the end of 2012.

1.    Respect  ( song about the riots we experienced a few months ago)
2.    Thousand
3.    When Winter comes
4.    Plastic
5.    Poor Kevin
6.    You kept away the rain
7.    Bruises
8.    November   (this is written in memory of Pauls mum, who left us sadly Nov 5th a few years ago.
9.    Its time to go  (This is a song about Skye specifically and with our lovely host  Mary in mind)
10.    Just before the Dawn

Super-duper Anna Scholz prize

Good afternoon all, just recently I was lucky enough to win a massive £150.00s in the Anna Scholz Movie Quote Competition.
In case you are all unaware of Ann's designs ( shame on you I say), make sure you check out her website  - http://www.annascholz.com .  Anna is particularly brilliant at choosing the most beautiful and vibrant fabrics.  You'll see what I mean shortly and she is a pinnacle of the plus sized community .

Getting back to the prize, so moi being rather savvy I decided to have a look at the fabulous sale.  Believe me when I say that the Anna Scholz sale at the moment is totally amazing.

Take a look at my first purchase.

Print Jersey Diamond Top - Color Leopard - Size 18 - £30.00 in the sale

This top is perfect for top Hourglass and Apple type shapes, in that you have a lowish neckline, great for showing just enough of your assets off ladies to make you feel womanly but not trampy if you see what I mean. The top then has almost like a diamond below and a gathered effect around the tummy area, which helps to hide those naughty rolls.   The fabric color is described as Leopard and Anna has very cleverly combined lime green, black and pink to create this fabulous print.  The fabric it self is a good heavy type material 95% Rayon and 5% Spandex  - Dry Clean and feels soft and silky.

The thing I love about this top is not only does it make me feel like very feminine, but its also stylish and elegant  in that its a great asset to any wardrobe.  This top makes me feel great and puts a smile on my face in the dullest of days.

How to Walk Fierce - Liverpool Fashion Week

So yesterday took me to the amazingly vibrant city of Liverpool to learn how to walk fierce in anticipation of Liverpool Fashion Week.
If you've never been to Liverpool you need to get yourself over, the place is full of fashionable beautiful people.
I nipped into Evans in St Johns Center , its a great store, very colorful, loads of great clothes. Loved the way that the clothes were paired together in to the concessions and body style, making choosing an outfit very easily.  Whilst I was in store I went for a fitting and was measured for LFW but also asked the lady to give me some advice on my shape, which I have discovered is "Apple", seeing as I like apples lol I thought it was quite amusing and apt.   To be honest it kind of makes sense looking at my clothes choice, I tend to go for things that show my bust off, preferring a fitted type look to an over flowy look which tends to make me look 9 months pregnant.  Not really what you want if you aren't! mm.

It was a shame that I didnt have time to have a good look around the Evans Shop but I was worried that I'd be late in getting to Kingdom for the Catwalk training.   Still I have said to Paul that we will have to go back as I also need to check out Simply Be and another rather popular looking plus sized shop as well round the corner from Evans, perhaps I can go on a Friday then I can nip to Butterflys "Curves and Cocktails Evenings"  ( best make it the train instead of the car lol) .

Surprisingly I was early for Kingdom, having changed in the car and probably giving some blokes at the bus-top a  right eyeful ( oh well plus sized girls go) , we managed to park for free ( whooo0) and got to the venue in record time.  I put Paul in charge of the camera  ( oh well no pics dohhhhhhhhhhh!, poor luvs shoulder was killing him, sorry about that ) .

So I'm sat there getting nervous, the lovely Amanda spots me and sets me at my ease and the trainer turned up  ( blimey her heels were high)  and we were split into two groups, so whilst the first group was being shown how to stomp. The Butterfly ladies were directed into the VIP area to be measured,  ( VIP area was quite plush, nice room with comfy seats and a curtain separating the celebs from us mere mortals lol.)
Beth L from Butterfly  turned up introduced herself  and her colleague and immediately set everybody at ease with her lovely calm serene type approach, then it was time for everybody to get measured and photographed.  Cant wait to see what Beth chooses for me to wear :0)

Once measured and photographed I thought I'd better go and see what was expected stomp wise, well it was a different walk, you sort of walked along putting one foot/leg over the over. If you ever watch ponies doing dressage it was similar sort of effect, very elegant but accentuated.  We were asked to walk with attitude, the bolder the better and really push to sell the clothes.  The quality of girls there was amazing , these girls are seriously beautiful  ( I felt very ugly lol).

I was slightly nervous, walking in front of all those beauties, but you do get the hang of it eventually, a few kind words from our trainer and off we went to the back of the queue whilst the rest of the girls had their go stomping down the imaginary cat walk.
So whats next well, practice, practice, practice, I need to get my heels on , walk up and down in the hall and practice my poses and practice selling selling those clothes.

You guys must make it to the show I beg of you as its gonna be amazing. Get your tickets now from the LFW Website  xxxxxx

Byseee for now  - see you on the other side xxxxxxxx

Well thats not all, oh no , I thought I'd tell you all about some exciting news that I've had recently .
Firstly I got into the top ten "Face of Rossendale" competition, although I didn't win, some young slim thing did lol.  I managed to secure a spot doing the Catwalk in Liverpool fashion week for Evans and Butterfly, which I'm totally and utterly delighted at.  The Cat Walk training starts on Saturday, so I'll try and take some pics and tell you all about it next week, apparently I'm going to be taught how to be fierce.  Groooooooooooowll.  The press are going to be there Saturday so we've been told to glam up, bring a jacket  ( for that over the shoulder Catwalk look)  and  bring my heels so lets go with my new Simply Be stuff. Check these babies out 4.5 inches of totally lush shoes, arent they stunning,  I just need my Anna Scholz top to turn up now so I can look a totally hot babe :0) .http://www.simplybe.co.uk/shop/product/details/show.action?pdLpUid=CE136&pdBoUid=4882&lpgUid

Also please make sure you check out the LFW , website I'm walking on the 20th of October at "NEWZ" bar and its being  hosted by the fabulous and totally gorgeous Alison Hammond.
Its only a tenner to get in and you get entertained all night long, plus you get to see MOI being all model like so its definitely worth it :0) .
http://www.liverpoolfashionweek.co.uk/

You know, the great thing about all of this is that its created some publicity for me and I've been able to mention the band as well :0)   When the scanner's working I'll add the articles , if you're in the area check out the Rossendale Free press,  next week its the St Helens Star.
I even received a congratulatory letter from Parliament!.
Well, things are looking up, eh?

Got a big, big, week next week, meeting with the band "Call me DIVA" www.callmediva.info to go over our plans for 2012 and the release date for our new single "Men of War".  Its also Paul ( Hubbie and guitarist in CME) shoulder operation ( which I'm terrified about) .
Plus if thats not enough, I've also been put forward for a promotion board at work so have to complete a form on why I want to be promoted  ( sell myself basically)  and put together a presentation pack. So busy busy busy.  So finally I'll leave you with the lovely butterfly, catch you next week hopefully with a new hair cut off to Freddies Rawtenstall ;0)

Another day in paradise 10/08/2011

Well todays weather seems quite fitting to the way I'm feeling today.

Wet, windy and cold dull sort of.

Woke up to devastation again on the news , Manchesters been hit now by those thugs.
Posted on facebook -
"Thank god the weathers crap - you never know with the reduction in temperature the hot heads out that might calm down and turn into human beings again."
Got some replies back that amused me - "If Northern Ireland is any model (and we are the Uk champion rioters after all), first sign of water and the brave souls fighting for deeply held beliefs fuck off back in doors so fast there's a sonic boom." and "purple permanent dye in the water!" - guess these times are sent to try us hey.

Heres to hoping it all stops soon hey, its not been a great day - been a massive softie at work , felt a right prat then the person I have the issue with rings me up - god I hate confrontation.

Today is very significant in two ways for me in that brilliantly its my big brother Chris's birthday, if you knew Chris, you;d know what a totally great guy he is. Looks after his family loves his kids and wife to bits and if I need him hes there for me ( just like big brothers should be).
The other way is that its today that we also celebrate Pauls mums birthday, she died a few years ago , on bonfire night  ( I think shes like my dad in that she died on a date that you couldnt possibly forget - deliberate hey) . I was very very close with her and she treated me just like her daughter , lovely beautiful caring women and I miss her tremendously.

So sat here still working - crying like a softie again and contemplating what I'm going to have for my tea.
Well I promise people ( if anybody is reading this) I do get happy , however just recently I think society downs and day to day issues are winning  pushing me down.

Right on a happier note as long as money is there in the bank - I'm going to go and watch the amazing talented Ian McNabb.

Night all xxxxxxxxxxxx

Blog day one - Life , rioting and doom and gloom.

Well my first post brings with it some doom and gloom.
It appears the world has gone mad, rioting in London has now spread to Birmingham, Bristol, and closer to home Liverpool, Leeds and maybe even Manchester they think.   What I cant understand and I know a lot of people feel the same is why is this happening to us.   I sat and watched the news in horror last night , seeing children, yes children smashing up shop windows, looting, throwing objects at the police and heard reports of people being threatened. One in particular a women who was dragged out of her car , thrown to the floor and then had her car smashed up.  What the hell did she do that deserved treating so badly.  Buildings on fire, cars the same its all just madness.  If you have a gripe protest peacefully dont hurt others and destroy your own living space.
